Electoral record

In office: Ward 9 Ran, not elected

Offices held and elections contested by Brian Jackson 2004 2008 2012 2016 2020 2024 Ward 9
When Brian Jackson held office (lines, coloured by office) and the elections they contested without winning (dots). Terms are drawn from election records alone: a line runs from each election to the next one for that office — or ends early where winning a different office ended the term — so a resignation for any other reason would not appear here. How to read this table. Most council business passes on consent, with no member-by-member vote in the minutes. The practice of recording votes by name has changed: such votes were routine through 2019, and from 2020 on usually appear only when a member asks for one. This table is every vote the minutes record by name. A member's absence from it says nothing about their position. The voice votes are in the record too: the minutes print 3,038 motion outcomes across 269 meetings, beside these 178 recorded votes. Each is listed on its meeting's page as an outcome only, because a voice vote records no one's position. The City's meeting system lists no meetings at all between October 22, 2025 and January 20, 2026, so any recorded votes from that window are missing until the Clerk provides the minutes. Where the minutes print no outcome beside a vote, none is shown here.

Compiled from the public electoral record. If anything here is wrong, please tell us on the corrections page. Names are linked across elections only where we have confirmed by hand that the records refer to the same person; where we are unsure, they are kept separate.
